“Algorithmic Vault Explorations” Workshop

“Algorithmic Vault Explorations” Workshop

Organized by the Chamber of Architects Kayseri Branch, this four-day workshop offered architecture students and graduates an intensive learning experience combining algorithmic design and physical fabrication, without requiring prior software knowledge. Participants explored the fundamentals of Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, and the Kangaroo physics engine, engaging with contemporary vault geometries and simulation-based design principles. The highlight of the workshop was the creation of a 1:1 scale cardboard vault prototype with the Solidified team: a structure assembled from 4,000 laser-cut pieces, demonstrating how digital design can be transformed into real-world architectural forms.
