Held from February 14 to 16, 2024 at Mersin University’s Girişim Limanı, this workshop—organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Young Entrepreneurs Research & Application Center, with the support of Çukurova University—offered an immersive, three-day program for architecture and interior architecture students
Participants, regardless of prior software experience, engaged in comprehensive training in Rhinoceros modeling—including NURBS, mesh, and subdivision techniques—before progressing to algorithmic and procedural design with Grasshopper. Emphasis was placed on understanding topology, exploring spatial composition through scale and superposition, and developing visual programming skills to generate curved surfaces and paneling patterns.
On the final day, students transformed their digital designs into physical prototypes using 3D printers and laser cutters in the MakerLab, culminating in a group exhibition with a closing cocktail attended by faculty and the Chamber of Architects Mersin Branch.
